Wedding Celebrant based in Cambridge
Peter Crawford
Fully engage with your wedding
by choosing a celebrant you can trust to take care of the details
I have had the privilege of seeing behind the scenes of hundreds of ceremonies, as a classically trained singer. Previously, I was a school chaplain, creating services alongside both teachers and students. I am comfortable including materials from different religions and philosophies and can support everyone taking part, including children, to present their contributions well. During the Covid lockdowns I worked as a health care assistant at my Gran’s nursing home and know the importance of communicating clearly with those whose senses are not quite what they once were.
All types of people come together for ceremonies
A ceremony with a celebrant gives you the freedom to choose the words, the music and the setting of your choice for your special occasion. It is helpful to have someone who can take care of the ceremony, making sure that you know what you are doing and involving everyone appropriately.
My role is to listen to what you would like in your wedding, provide support to put it all together, including the script, and then lead you and your guests through the ceremony on the day.

With a love of both traditions and adventure, I look forward to finding out what works for you
It is important that everyone feels included at a ceremony, with no assumptions of sexuality, gender, physical ability or beliefs. I can also work alongside any relatives whose opinions can be challenging, as most families have them! While I will bring the presence to lead proceedings, I think it important that celebrants should remember that the ceremony is not about them and I am just as capable of blending into the background as standing at the front.
Most ceremonies I take are within easy travel distance from my home in Cambridge but I also enjoy travel! I am happy speaking in any of the languages represented at the top of the page, including Arabic since I have lived in Jordan. If a language that is important to you is not listed, I can learn a few phrases or work alongside a translator.

Wedding / Renewal of Vows
Someone said YES! Congratulations! Stating vows in front of witnesses is a wonderful tradition of love and commitment that is well worth celebrating. What those vows contain, where, how and when you celebrate that love is up to you.
