Weddings

If you’re marrying or becoming the civil partner of someone who makes you flourish, nothing should get in the way of you having a wonderful day! Or maybe you didn’t quite have the ceremony you hoped for the first time round and would like to celebrate a renewal of vows, doing it your way? In all cases, having a celebrant who puts people at ease and who manages the ceremony to make it ideal for you is definitely a good choice.

As you are considering, a wedding that is not in a place of religious worship, you have complete freedom to choose the content that you would like. With me as your celebrant, you can expect:

1. We have an initial chat (phone / Zoom / in person) to check I am the right celebrant for you, discussing the type of ceremony that appeals to you. I will suggest the fee after that first meeting.

2. A longer meeting (Zoom / in person) goes through the broad possibilities for the ceremony. If there are vows, we discuss the themes of what the content will be and who is writing them. I will then provide selections of readings and music, as requested.

3. After you have thought through possibilities, we select the different parts of the ceremony.

4. I write the script and you/I write the vows.

5. I send the script over, possibly excluding vows. If there are vows that your partner will not see in advance, I will make sure the two are balanced.

6. We finalise the script so you can print the ceremony booklet if desired.

7. You confirm the date, time and place with me, and travel and accommodation if appropriate.

8. You arrange the legal registration of the wedding.

9. We rehearse everything.

10. You have a wonderful ceremony!
